Gone are the days when any old can would do. Safety conscious America is now insisting on approved gasoline storage cans which will prevent any type of fire or explosion. Approved storage cans now come in two types. Type 1 for storage of hazardous materials, and Type 2 which are used in the dispensing of hazardous materials. Each comes with a flash arrester which prevents the introduction of any spark or flame into the can. 

The Type 2 can comes with the added advantage of a dispensing spout which enables accurate pouring without the need for a funnel. No garage or factory workshop should be without the proper cans for safely storing and dispensing hazardous materials. OSHA has mandated their use in industry and common sense mandates their use at home.
