Signage continues to be one of the most cited defects. Signs come in plastic, fiberglass, aluminum, vinyl, or just about any other material you might need for your application. Each sign must have the correct heading and proper color for the application used. Danger -red, warning-yellow, notice -blue, and information or first aid-green. All pipes which contain or carry fluids of gases must also be marked with the proper pipe marker.

Fire extinguishers and fire hoses must also be marked for easy location by plant personnel. Self contained breathing apparatus must also be properly marked. Aisles in plants devoted to fork lifts or other vehicular traffic join the crowd as needing to be marked and signed.
